Paraglider icons
The paraglider icons describe flight weather for hang gliding and paragliding. The assessment is weighted toward launch direction, usable wind sectors, wind speed, gusts, rain, night, and thermal signals.
Stable / weak
Calm or weak wind with limited thermal signal.
Good launch wind
Direction fits, wind is manageable, and the air looks usable.
Watch conditions
Partly usable, but wind or other signals are not clear enough yet.
Flyable but rough
Flyable for experienced pilots, but gusts or shifting wind may make the air demanding.
Avoid right now
Conditions are outside safe or sensible use right now.
Rain
Rain or recent rain makes conditions unsuitable right now.
Night
Dark or night conditions. Not assessed as flying weather.
Waiting for data
Not enough fresh data to make an assessment.
