Aircraft icons
The aircraft icons describe weather for normal aircraft activity at an airfield or strip. The assessment uses separate, more tolerant wind, gust, and direction-variation thresholds than the paraglider profile.
Stable / weak
Weak and stable wind, normally the calm kind of conditions you want.
Good launch wind
Steady wind and good direction for takeoff and landing.
Watch conditions
Usable, but keep an eye on wind speed, gusts, or direction.
Flyable but rough
Gusts or unsettled wind make conditions more demanding.
Avoid right now
Wind, direction, rain, or darkness suggest waiting.
Rain
Rain or wet conditions reduce visibility, comfort, and margins.
Night
Night or darkness without a relevant daylight assessment.
Waiting for data
Not enough fresh data to assess conditions.
